An excellent day for regular Hornsea Mere watchers with a record count of 3 Velvet Scoters present this morning finally eclipsing the 2 recorded way back 23rd April 1983. A Black-throated Diver also being the first record on the Mere since 31st December 2013. And if that wasn’t enough a Long-eared Owl made the day list with the last recorded in April 2016.
