Some pic’s from Ade of local scarcity Small Red-eyed Damselflies (3+) and Black-tailed Skimmers (12+) on the new pond at Grimston. It’s that new it hasn’t been christened with a name yet by Tim, so for now it’ll be referred to as Tims New Pond. A male Emperor Dragonfly has also been seen.

The highlight however was a party of Spotted Flycatchers (2 ads,4 juvs) in a roving Tit flock by the Wassand Cottages near the carpark. Despite looking in the old Wassand/Mere haunts this spring/summer, it was looking at being the first blank breeding year for Spot Flys. However it looks like they are just hanging on. Just gotta find some Garden Warblers now!
